Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Cor. 5:17
Wow!!! You look amazing, how did you do it? What do you eat? How much do you exercise? Sometimes the questions go on and on. Don't get me wrong, the wonderful new life I have now because of God's grace can't match the life I had before, but how do you live this wonderful life in the present, while you're running from who you use to be? In the scripture above where it says, "the old is gone, the new is here" is a process. It was just recently that I realized how much shamed I lived under in my past, so much so that I really didn't love, or even like who I was. I've learned that the parts of you that don't heal remain current in you until they are processed out. I'm now learning to look at old pictures with joy and peace instead of disdain and regret. Learning to look with amazement of the long standing commitment she had to be made whole, and not with anger because of how many times she failed. I'm learning to invite her into the journey of wholeness with me, and not pretend that she didn't matter, or exists. She, the old me had so many wonderful qualities, and a joy that I pray I'm doing her proud. Is there an old you that maybe you are ashamed of? Ways you behaved, and things you've done that you would love to never think of again. Learn to forgive yourself as many times as needed to release yourself from guilt, and shame of the past. Maybe it's time to take another look back, a deeper look and see what wonderful things about the old you that you can take and celebrate. Just the fact that the old you didn't give up...Yes, lets start there. Lacy
