Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Ps. 51:6
We live is a world that's dominated by oxymorons. We have fallen in love once again with the thought of really loving who we are, but from the looks of it, the statement of loving yourself seems to be far from the truth. How can we love our hair being natural, and put weave in our little girls hair? How can we say we love ourselves, but don't sleep. or eat well? How can we say we love the skin we're in, but when it comes to posting a simple picture turns into an overly filtered pretense of a person we wish to be? When did we give in to the fake pretense of the fairy-tale, made up world of Facebook, and Instagram. When did we stop being real, not just real with people but real with ourselves? Why don't we just tell the truth! Why not say, I don't know what to do. Why not say, "Hey, I'm a mess today" Why not just take off the filters, stop being fake and just BE! What is happening is we're teaching our next generation that who they are, is not enough. You must cover up at all cost so much that when people see you out in public, they're not sure if it's really you, because the you on the screen is not the same you we see at the local store. The only way to true healing is vulnerability. Look, see me, just like I really am, No makeup, no filters no hiding, I'm a wonderful mess, Loved by a wonderful God. He knows me! He knows my frame! He knows all the things He's still healing in me, and yet not ashamed to call me by His name. When we really let go of all the lies, we will have nothing, and no one to hide from. Maybe when we finally stop hiding, we will learn that who we are is enough. The REAL me, RAW and FREE! Lacy
