We are perfect!!!
One of the most challenging journeys we will ever have to take, is the one to who we really are. Our likes and dislikes may have been based on what our parents thought, and the influence of our peers. But never know what we really like. It takes time to understand and be O.K. with who we are. I turned 50 years old this year and it feels like I'm just settling into who I really am. It has been a life chaining journey filled with many ups and downs, but it has all been worth it. We must take time and allow Father God to teach us who He made us to be, then allow ourselves to fall in love with THAT person. The only way to live our best life, is to find out who we are, then live OUR best live.

Learning to name it.
Learning to process our emotions in a healthy way was not the norm or taught to us as children. As a result, many of us grow up turning to other vices in order to help us cope with emotional distressing moments. I learned to cope with the hard moments of my life by overeating. I gained a lot of weight, and didn't get rid of the stress. It has taken many years going through God's healing process were I can finally take time, stop and begin to identify and deal with the real issues, instead of running to food for false comfort. Some of the steps I've learned; 1. It only takes one question to start the identifying process. - Why am I.....? Sad, angry, depressed...etc. 2. Taking the next moment to breathe and ask God for His peace. 3 Write it down- Learning to journal has given me a way to begin to peel back my feelings, and get to the true emotion that pushing the feeling. Just because you feel something that feels real, doesn't mean it is. Once I am able to get to the truth, then I can go to Father God and His Word knowing what promise to look for so I can gain the peace He promised He give us. The Truth about "The Struggle"
The over used saying about "The Struggle being real" in fact is not real at all. Our life is a combination of all the choices that have been made. Early choices made in childhood and formative years while in total dependence on adults made by adults, gave way to us either having a firm foundation for success, or that left us in lack. We can not go back and relive those years, but we have total the responsibility now to make the right choices that will cause us to walk in the success God desires for us. Simply put, make the choice, have the success. No matter what it is, the struggle is more about you choosing, and less about the situation at hand. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT!!!
Thinking has become such an inactive part of our life, that it takes a great deal of effort to form new thought habits. Negative living is the direct result of negative thinking. You will never have a positive life if the negative thoughts of the enemy are allowed to stay and grow. It's time to take a hard look at the way we think, begin to take steps according to the Word of God can we have the God kinda life Jesus died to give us. Find the promise and stop focusing on the problem. Life will continue to happen to all of us, but focusing on every that's wrong will not turn things in our favor. Only then will we begin to produce the life God always planned for us to have and live. Peace be stillWe are living is such a chaotic world system. God is shaking everything that can be shaken. Even in this middle of the swirling, stomach churning movement, God promised that His children would remain steady as long as we keep our eyes on Him.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Ps 16:8 To remain in the peace of God doesn't mean that you don't care about the many happens in the world, and with things around you. It means that you have resolved to allow God in His great wisdom to do, what no amount of worrying by you, will ever be able to do. You are also saying to God that I'm resting in you as you work all things out for your glory. Many things are screaming for our attention, but only the things that Father is looking at that He wants us to gear our attention toward, comes with the peace that passes understanding. If He wants your attention there, His peace will meet you there. Let His peace Rule your heart today. During the Summer months we are all subject to frustrating highway drives due to construction. How awesome would it be for those who plan to repair, and work on this projects knew, that their work on the highway has now delayed our time schedule and takes us longer to get to point B.
The many signs like "you must exit here" in fact may not be where we want to exit at all, but we don't have a choice, so we exit. How wonderful it would be if we would go into every assignment from God, goal, and dream with this sign in front of us. We must exit the defeat mentality and no longer give ourselves the option to quit. For as long as we allow another option outside of God's way, we will always take it. Do you have other options? NEWS FLASH.... DIETS DON'T WORK, CHANGING YOUR THINKING DOES!
The reason diets don't work is because the focus is on the eating alone. With the restricted method the results will be short-lived if the thinking that caused the weight gain is not changed. The result will be the return of the loss weight, plus added pounds for interest. Diets will never get at the heart of the true issues that causes out of control eating in the first place. Healing of the heart needs to happen, and God is wanting to get at our heart issues like abandonment, rejection, loneliness, and pride to name a few. The heart of the issue are the real problems and not the food alone. Once we face the real issues, then we can be healed and begin to let a healing start. The process of renewing and changing our minds then will help us to catch up with the person we are becoming without all the extra pounds. The pouring of a new foundation in your thinking is necessary if the main goal is to loss the weight and then keep it off. Change the root, Change the fruit. God gives good gifts! How wonderful would it be if the very thing we wanted would just come to us when we want it.
We all know how it is, we pray, knock, seek, and ask just like the Word tells us to and still... nothing. What is happening! Why is it taking so long? We keep the faith, use our words and still... nothing! God says He will reward those that diligently seek Him, so we continue seeking Him and He works things toward our good, while our eyes are on Him and not the thing we want. We sometimes just want what we want, but God wants to give us more. He wants to give us a mature heart. So we have no other choice but to wait of the Lord while learning to be in good courage. Ps 27:14 Then one day when we are not even paying attention, it's like God taps us on the shoulder and says "look", and seemingly, out of nowhere, the very thing we have prayed about for the last few years is standing right in front of us. Upon receiving some promises in my life I realized some incredible things were happening in my heart. -I finally understood that God always has the perfect timing, and He is ALWAYS RIGHT! -He will not be pushed around by my emotional fits, and I had a few. -I had to develop a new trust in Him with each step of faith. -I found that I developed discipline in my soul and stopped playing the victim. -With each new level I had to learn to breathe in a new fresh way. My seek after Him had to change. -I had to learn to eat His Word (Bible) on a new level. I had to grow up to hear Him differently. -It was not all about me, but it started with me, because our life affects someone else life. -Always stay teachable. You may know a lot, but there will always be more to learn. -Welcome God's correction, He corrects those He love, and by correcting us He makes us more like Jesus. He 12:6 -The good gift was all about His mission and for His Kingdom to come in the earth through us. In view of the "promise" that you will receive from the Father, let Him show you all thing greater promises you gained on your way up your mountain. You will be amazed and the tears you cried on your way will spring forward into tears of joy!! Man... I just want to be done already!!!!
Why is this taking so dog gone long. It's so easy to want the finish results, get to the end, and stand of the shore of success, but wait! What about the process? In wanting to get to a healthy weight, or any kind of goal, process is the process to get there. This process is not just about losing pounds, or getting the degree, or standing at the finish line after running the race, it's about becoming the person you were always meant to be. So many go through but never become. They go through just to find themselves being who they were before they went in. If you go in rejected and don't change while you're in there, you will come out rejected. If you go in with an orphan heart and you never give your heart to the Father and become a son, you will come out and still be an orphan in your heart. I believe the purpose of the process is transformation of the heart, and not the end result only. The end result will happen because of the hard work and effort you put forth, but the transformation happens because of who you become more like while you're in there, more like Jesus and ready to fulfill the purpose that Father God put US here to do... His Will. We must ask ourselves what do we really want most, the end result, or a transformed heart that will sustain the end result. It's time to let Him crash...
God desires to take us deeper into places we have only dreamed of going. Your knees will shake, and your heart will pound! It will be the most wonderful thing you have ever done. Let your heart move away from the shore of the fears that have held you captive for so long. No matter if you sink or swim He will always be there. This is our saving grace. Stop fearing the very waters He has created to take us to the shore of our destined place and beyond. Jump in the water is amazing!! |
